"Sustainable Economic Development and Business Management
in the Context of Globalisation (SEDBM-4)"
Globalization is not a new phenomenon, it ever happened to our social and economic lives since the last decade of the 19th century appealing and linking resources of nations. Nonetheless, the recent emergence of intellectual economy had put a new appearance to the globalization process. In the threshold of the 21st century, the modern world motion underlying holistic and simultaneous changes in politics, economy and society is forecast to reform the globalization process: the balance of power has been changed from unipolar to multipolar mechanism; the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and creative innovation have brought about advance platforms such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), etc. with development speed and scale that never happened in history; ecological challenges inclusive of climate change and diseases have directly threatened social and economic development of every nation. Globalization has fostered economic growth and development at global level, but it has also created increasing inequality. In addition, pressure, strong and quick captivation of globalization in close connection with intellectual economy has impacted thoroughly on every nation and sector. Thus, sustainable development has been key to any development effort.
Following the success of the third international conference, the Academy of Finance is organizing the fourth conference on Sustainable Economic Development and Business Management in the Context of Globalization (SEDBM-4) to have insight to the core issues of modern globalization and to formulate responsive measures in the new context.
