Academy of Finance to deploy online training platform Blackboard Open LMS
In three days of 16, 17 and 18th July 2019, the representative of Blackboard Ms. Susan D’Aloia came to work with AOF on the possibility to deploy their technology-based learning model at the academy.

Blackboard is a global group specialized in online learning initiatives applied to all levels of training. It has more than 20-year experience in developing education and training systems for many countries in the world and in Asia. The ecosystem that Blackboard develops has already been applied to some universities in Vietnam such as RMIT, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUH).

Ms. Susan D’Aloia introduced the advantages of technology-based solutions developed by Blackboard such as initiatives in sharing users information within ecosystem, hierarchical management, quality control and assessment, open-sourced solutions customized to specific users and mobile learning apps.

E-learning is a convergence of learning and Internet making studies simpler, cost and time saving. E-learning not only ensures the demand of knowledge conveyance but also guarantees the improved effectiveness of training.

In reply to his partner at the meeting, the AOF vice president notified that Academy of Finance has run a plan to develop E-learning model since 2018 and has completed preliminary steps, however, the academy was still encountering some technical problems that needed to be overcome quickly. Additionally, from the experience of other Vietnamese universities who had successfully applied this model, AOF needed to take specific policies to attract participation of both lecturers and students.

Sharing her thought with Blackboard’s representative, Associate professor Truong Thi Thuy supposed that Academy of Finance would start pilot program by allowing its lecturers and students to access to the system and experience the benefit that Blackboard brings about.
