The Vietnam Higher Education Exhibition 2019 was co-organized by Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and Ministry of Education and Sport of Laos in the event of the “Forum for higher education training enhancement between Vietnam and Laos”. The forum was an initiative between the two ministries contributing to enhance and develop training and education cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, this forum was also expected to bring about great benefits for the two countries in the future.

In 2011, the government of Vietnam approved the project “Improving quality and performance of Vietnam – Laos cooperation in education and laborforce development 2011-2020”, the project concentrated on measures to improve the number of qualified managerial officials and researchers of Laos to meet the new requirements of development and international integration.

According to figures, in 2011, there were about 6,000 Lao students studying in 70 training institutions in Vietnam including approximately 4,000 non-agreement students. However, since 2015 to present, the number of Lao students coming to study in Vietnam has been considerably improved with more than 12,000 students/year. Particularly, by March 2019, there were more than 16,000 Lao students in Vietnam (accounting approximately 80% of the total number of international students in Vietnam).

And the attendances of representatives from more than 50 universities and academies in Vietnam including University of Technology, National University of Civil Engineering, Academy of Finance, Thuong Mai University, University of Hue, etc. and thousands of Lao students having interest in traveling to study in Vietnam.

This was the second time Academy of Finance participate in the event (the first event took place in 2016), the AOF’s team included 04 delegates: Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung – AOF’s Director of Training (team leader), Dr. Nguyen Thu Huong – Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Nguyen Quang Hung – Faculty of Postgraduate Training, Master Ha Tuan Vinh – International Relations Department.

Additionally, AOF had great support from lecturers and students of Academy of Economics and Finance in Laos. Especially, there were attendances of Dr. Khamseng Bualaphanh – Head of International Relations and Dr. Sensack Soulisack – President of Academy of Economics and Finance.

Similar to the previous event, the AOF’s stall was all-the-time crowded with visits of guests, parents and students. It could be seen that the subjects of finance and economics delivered by AOF had great interest of Lao students.
