Keynote speakers of the conference were Professor Sheridan Titman - University of Texas at Austin (US), Professor Su Dinh Thanh - Chief Editor of Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (Jabes), Ho Chi Minh University of Economics, Dr. Hoang Xuan Hoa - Assistant of the Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Associate Professor Bui Van Huyen - Head of Institute of Economics, National Academy of Politics, Associate Professor Nguyen Duy Bac - Vice President of National Academy of Politics, Associate Professor Dao Thu Giang - Vice Rector of Foreign Trade University.

Associate Professor Nguyen Trong Co presented opening speech at the conference

On the AOF’s representatives, there were attendance of Associate Professor Nguyen Trong Co - President of Academy of Finance, Associate Professor Truong Thi Thuy - Vice President of AOF, Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung - Vice President of AOF, Associate Professor Nguyen Vu Viet - Vice President of AOF. There were also participation of hundreds of guests, reporters, authors and students.

Professor Sheridan Titman, University of Texas at Austin, US presented keynote speech on stock market manipulation

Associate Professor Nguyen Trong Co opened the conference day with a speech noting the role and challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0: The revolution with universal impacts on all the aspects of life changing entirely the business consumption practices. He also emphasized the target of the workshop “to build and provide updated literature, practices and measures for the development of finance, accounting and auditing in the new context”.

At the general session, attendants listened to the presentation of Professor Sheridan Titman on the stock market manipulation and presentation of Professor Su Dinh Thanh on financial hierarchy. Other conference sessions were on the following topics: Finance, Accounting, Financial policy and Tax.

A reviewer at the workshop

Reviewing the topics, Professor Sheridan Titman shared his opinion “The participation papers really inspire me with diversified contents of in-depth finance and accounting and with high scientific density and applicability”. What impresses me is the language skills of the authors when the authors well performed their presentations in English.

Associate Professor Ngo Thanh Hoang, Vice Head of Scientific Research Department, AOF noted that research and training are the two major activities of the Academy of Finance. In short term and medium term, Academy of Finance will strengthen these activities to make them annual events. Accordingly, the international conference in 2020 will focus on the topics of budgetary finance, development of private economy and sustainable economic development.

The conference was considered a forum for the local and international scientists, entrepreneurs, managers to share their views on the global emerging trends in the field of finance and accounting.
