“FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING FOR THE PROMOTION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN PRIVATE SECTOR

(FASPS-6).

1. Objectives and Contents
Following the success of the FASPS-5 in 2023, the Academy of Finance continues to collaborate with institutions in Vietnam and overseas to hold the sixth international conference on “Finance and Accounting for the Promotion of Sustainable Development in Private Sector” (FASPS-6). FASPS-6 solicits high quality, unpublished and authentic contributions that discuss innovative research ideas and research challenges.
The major goals of conference are:
  • To share a collaborative knowledge platform among researchers from diversified areas of finance and accounting,  and from different perspectives in the world. 
  • To promote a partnership among academia and industry.
  • To publicize innovative research ideas and recent trends in financial and accounting research.
  • To provide a wide platform to the esteemed researchers for sharing their ideas in front of eminent speakers from highly renowned organizations. 
Some of our popular areas, not limited to, but as follows are:
  • Financial and Accounting Policies for the Development of Private Economy; Human Resources and Business Environment for the Promotion of Private Economy; Views and Perception of Private Economy.
  • Economic Management, Public Finance Reform, Administrative Reform for the Benefit of Private Economy Development; Private Economy, Conditions, Measures and Orientations of Private Economy Development, Factors Determining the Development of Private Economy.
  • Situation, Role and Contribution of Private Economy to the Economic Growth of Vietnam; Private Economy in the Context of Integration, Industrial Revolution Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Participation into Free Trade Agreements, etc. The Role of the State and other topics related to the development of Private Economy.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
 
1. Professor Jacqueline Birt (direct keynote speaker)

Professor Jac Birt joined the UWA Business School in January 2018. Previously she was employed at the UQ Business School, Monash Business School, the ANU and the University of Melbourne.  She is a Professor of Accounting and the Head of Department - Accounting and Finance for the UWA Business School.
Jac is a member of several external boards including Tranby College and is the immediate Past President of AFAANZ. She is also the current chair of the Chairs in Accounting and Finance (CAFF). She is a previous Deputy Editor at the Accounting & Finance Journal and an Associate Editor at the Accounting Research Journal.

Jac’s research is predominantly in international accounting and accounting education. In international accounting she has published in areas such as segment reporting, voluntary disclosures, and value relevance. In accounting education, she has published in areas such as XBRL, ICT use in accounting, international student learning and blended learning. She has published over 30 refereed journal articles including Review of Accounting Studies, Abacus, Journal of Business Ethics, Sport Management Review, Australian Journal of Management, Accounting and Finance, Accounting Research Journal, Australian Journal of Adult Learning, Australian Accounting Review, Accounting in Europe, International Journal of Pedagogy and Curriculum and Accounting Education. She is currently working on projects including accreditation issues, team-based learning, internet reporting, pension plans, accounting regulation and insurance contracts.

Jac is also the main author on the leading Wiley Australian accounting textbook – “Accounting: Business Reporting for Decision Making” currently being revised for its 8th edition
 
2. Associate Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman (Online keytnote speaker)

Associate Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman is the Head of the Department of Accounting & Finance at Peter Faber Business School and an elected Academic Board member of Australian Catholic University. He is a Senior Fellow at Advance HE (formerly the UK Higher Education Academy). He served as an Editorial Board member in Accounting & Finance (ABDC A-ranked journal). He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Risk Finance and the International Journal of Financial Studies.

His research interests include asset pricing, financial contagion, interest rate risk and capital adequacy. He has published in Journal of Economic Behaviour & Organisation, International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, Economic Modelling, Finance Research Letters, and Applied Economics, among others. He serves as a Visiting Research Fellow at UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, a leading investment bank in Bangladesh. He received his PhD from the University of Newcastle. He also has extensive experience in senior positions in the banking and finance industry.

He was a Managing Director of SIMARCH Asia in Singapore. He led a Research & Planning Department in a commercial bank. He is a regular contributor to the media on contemporary topics. His recent interview on the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank has been broadcast on SBS Prime time news at 6.30 pm. He has been a regular industry speaker on contemporary banking topics.
 
3. Aucky Pratama - Lead Public Affairs, Asia Pacific – ACCA

 
Aucky joins ACCA after 12 years with the ASEAN Federation of Accountants, where he was the Executive Director since 2015. Before that, he was the Technical Director of the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (IAI), responsible for building local, regional and international relationships with public and private organisations. 

Throughout his career, Aucky has gained significant experience in public affairs, international engagements, capacity building, and standard setting. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, he has worked with prominent figures in accountancy, including IFAC, the IFRS Foundation, international standard-setting organisations, development agencies, and professional accountancy organisations. He has also established strong connections with prominent policymakers and business leaders in a number of jurisdictions across the region.

Aucky joins ACCA at an exciting time in Asia Pacific as we develop our capability to support the double-digit growth of ACCA in the region. At ACCA Asia Pacific, Aucky will play a pivotal role in spearheading the implementation of the organisation's public affairs strategy in collaboration with colleagues and partners across Asia Pacific. This new function under Aucky’s leadership will strengthen our support to policymakers, government and institutions in mutually addressing key issues such as public sector reform, sustainability, Artificial Intelligence, and talent.
