Academy of Finance – International Conference “Sustainable Economic Development and Business Management in the context of Globalization” 2019 (SEDBM2)
Academy of Finance organizes its annual international conference SEDBM2 on major financial issues in the context of globalization. The conference attracted hundreds of scientists and managers from Vietnam and other countries with 99 papers published in the proceedings.
The conference took place at AOF’s main campus, HT700 Conference Hall, December 11th 2019

Attending the conference, there were attendances of international keynote speakers from Edith Cowan University, Australia: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Simone Domenico Scagnelli and Dr. Jaime Yong. There were also attendances of honorable guests from Political Academy of People’s Public Security: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quoc Ly (Vice President), Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phung (Director of Tax Administration Department – Ministry of Finance).
Academy of Finance has the attendances of Management Board: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Co (President), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Thi Thuy (Vice President), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Viet (Vice President) and Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung (Vice President).
There were also participation of scientists from other universities in Vietnam: Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, University of Vinh, Thai Nguyen University, etc.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Co, AOF’s President gave opening speech
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Co defined the importance and implication of the conference in the Digital Age: to take best advantages of these great opportunities and to overcome challenges, we need to identify that sustainable development is the dominant goal in social and economic development. To achieve this goal, Vietnam needs to transform the economic growth model from width to depth, improve the quality, productivity and competitiveness, retain quick and sustainable development, effectively use the resources for sustainable development, create an equal competitive environment, reform and improve the policies regarding economics, environment protection, social equality assurance, human resource improvement, international integration, free-trade agreements, …
He also emphasized “SEDBM 2019 targets at exchanging the best practices in economics and finance for the benefits of green development, business restructure, stock market, financial liberalization, etc. which promote the advantages while mitigating the challenges that the globalization and Industry 4.0 bring about.

After the general meeting, there were four sessions of three main topics: Economics, Business Administration; Finance, Accounting and Auditing.

According to professional perspective, the papers of SEDBM 2019 were diversified with research issues which were conducted in both Vietnamese and English and high density of knowledge.

With the success of SEDBM2, Academy of Finance targets at making SEDBM an annual major event attracting local and international scientists.
