Introdution

Faculty of Tax and Customs was established in 2003 pursuant to the Decision 1237/QĐ-BTC dated May 16th 2003 of the Minister of Finance. The faculty was assigned the task of training two majors: Taxation and Customs. After more than 10 years of training, in order to meet practical requirements, from 2015 the Customs major was changed to the Customs and Foreign Trade major.

Number of staff and lecturers: there are 18 permanent lecturers (In which: 2 Excellent Teachers, 5 Associate Professors - PhDs, 7 PhDs and 6 Masters), 16 part-time lecturers from the Ministry of Finance, General Department of Taxation and General Department of Customs and 01 faculty office staff.

INTRODUCTION OF THE SPECIALIZATION IN THE FACULTY

1. Customs and Foreign Trade

1.1. Training Objectives

General objective: To train high-quality human resources for the field of customs, import-export and foreign trade to meet the requirements of integration, trade liberalization and state management in the field of customs and import and export activities.

1.2. Career opportunities and prospects

- During the training process, students have a lot of access to the real environment through practical reports by experts from the General Department of Customs, through field trips at Customs Departments, Sub- Customs Departments, customs agents, international freight forwarders or practice customs operations through the Customs Practice Department sponsored by the General Department of Customs, can install new application software. in the field of customs and foreign trade.

- With trained knowledge, students majoring in Customs and foreign trade have the opportunity and ability to undertake professional jobs such as import-export operations, customs operations, customs declaration, payment, international freight forwarding, accounting, international audit etc..; Able to work in State management agencies in the field of tax, customs, import and export such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the General Department of Taxation, the General Department of Customs, the Customs Department, the Customs Sub-Departments, import and export enterprises, international transport, businesses providing tax and customs services such as tax agents, customs clearance agents, tax consultants, customs consultants and other policies on management of import and export goods; Able to do teaching and research at universities and scientific research agencies in the fields of customs, tax, and foreign trade.

2. Taxation

2.1. Training objectives:

- Training bachelors with theoretical qualifications and apply in-depth tax knowledge to tax administration practice.

- Students have the ability and handle jobs related to tax such as tax policy, tax management, tax accounting, tax consulting...

2.1. Career opportunities and prospects

- The environment, training and learning conditions of Tax students are quite favorable. Students can join the Tax and Customs Club to improve their in-depth knowledge of Tax and Customs.

- The coordination between the Department of Taxation and Customs and the General Department of Taxation is very close and regular. Students are always facilitated by the Tax Department in terms of references, practical reports, and internship conditions. For final year students, when they come to practice at tax authorities at all levels, they have the opportunity to work like a real tax officer. Each year, the General Department of Taxation sponsors 10 scholarships for excellent students on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding on training cooperation between the Academy of Finance and the General Department of Taxation.

- Tax graduates at the Academy of Finance have many prospects and career opportunities:

+ Can work at state management agencies in the field of taxation and customs.

+ Ability to perform professional tasks such as: tax accounting, tax consulting in businesses, tax service providers.
