Faculty of Corporate Finance was established in 1963 with its former name “Faculty of Finance and Accounting” which was then divided into two faculties namely Faculty of Industry Finance and Faculty of Industry Accounting. In 1973, Faculty of Industry Finance merged with Faculty of State Budget Finance to form a new Faculty of Finance. It was again divided into two divisions (Faculty of Industry Finance and Faculty of State Budget Finance) in 1981 before, later in 1994, the name Faculty of Business Finance was officially used until present.

Currently, the Faculty of Business Finance is in charge of teaching 16 subjects, managing 86 classes with about 3,200 full-time students majoring in Corporate Finance; Financial Analysis; Valuation and real estate business with 63 Fellow Ph.Ds majoring in Finance - Banking and 12 Fellow Ph.Ds majoring in Accounting

Over the past 57 years, the Faculty of Business Finance has continuously grown-up. From less than 10 people, up to now (as of April 2020) the total number of teachers in the Faculty has reached 42 people. In particular, the faculty currently has 12 teachers who can teach professional subjects in English. Every year, the number of regular university graduates in majors managed by the faculty ranges from 600 to 800 people. The Faculty has participated in training thousands of Masters in Finance - Banking and Accounting and nearly 80 PhDs in Finance - Banking for the country. Many alumni of the faculty are currently taking on important roles in the country's management-leadership apparatus, contributing to honoring the tradition of the Academy of Finance in general and of the Faculty of Business Finance in particular.

The Faculty of Business Finance has the functions and tasks to participate in the process of training and fostering graduates and postgraduates in the fields of Economics, Finance - Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information System and English language contribute to the implementation of the mission: "Providing high quality training and scientific research products in Economics, Finance - Accounting for society" of Academy of Finance. As follows:

- Regarding training and fostering: The Faculty participates in training financial human resources at the following levels: Bachelor, Master, Doctor of all disciplines and majors of the Academy of Finance. At the same time, the Faculty directly trains Bachelors of 3 majors:  Corporate Finance; Financial analysis; Valuation and real estate business. In which, training a high-quality Bachelor of 2 majors in Corporate Finance and financial analysis. The Faculty also participates in training and fostering knowledge on Corporate Finance, asset valuation, real estate business, and financial analysis for businesses and units outside the Academy.

- About scientific research: The Faculty conducts scientific research, transfers technology to serve the training of the Academy and to serve enterprises, non-business units, state management agencies, economic - social  organizations about economic - financial in the whole country.

- Regarding student management: The Faculty is assigned to centrally manage regular university students with the average number of students in all four courses of about 3200 students, of which there are more than 520 students of the advanced program, managing fellow PhDs of 3 majors; Total: 75 Fellow PhDs.
